Imagine your entire school, grade level, or classroom being able to perform a high energy, choreographed dance routine.  It’s possible with the assistance of the Florida Studio Theatre Education Staff.  After just one workshop, your students will be able to hold “A Dance Happening” at a moment’s notice.  You may be asking yourself, “What is a “Happening?”.  A “Happening” is an unannounced joyous burst of art in an unexpected place.

In addition to fun the students will have learning and performing the dance routine, there are physical and mental  benefits as well.  Group choreography fosters teamwork, communication, trust and cooperation. Dance also has been proven to nurture important life skills, such as discipline and focus. Dance can be an enriching, classroom-based activity because it can be integrated with study of diverse cultures, math, and sciences such as anatomy. According to Dana Foundation research, dance can benefit children’s ability to learn new information because it stimulates the brain’s visual, auditory, and memory centers.

We will schedule a full day of instruction and can handle up to one grade level at a time. Each group will need 30-40 minutes of instruction by FST teaching artists prior to performance.
