Bringing Carnival of the Animals to Life
Exploration Description
This exciting, hands-on arts integration Teaching Artist Residency presented by Stephanie Daige uses Camille Saint-Saëns’ work Carnival of the Animals to teach students how music is used to convey characteristics of different animals. Students will learn the vocabulary words pitch, timbre, and tempo, and discuss how these elements are used to portray the movement of different animals.

$400 per residency. This cost includes a pre-meeting with the classroom teacher, 3 visits by the teaching artist, music, and materials to make the masks, puppets and fossils. Fee is $700 for two classes, taught on the same day, back-to-back. $75 total extra travel fee for south-county (south of Pine View) schools.
