In such a competitive world, marketing and media strategies oftentimes determine not just the fate of businesses but also impact our economy. Careers in public relations, advertising and marketing offer “smart thinking” creative students – who enjoy writing, photography, art, technology, graphic design and other forms of media – an avenue by which to shape the future. On Ideas will expose students to a variety of career options, from public relations to graphic design. It is important for students to follow their passions as that will enable them to engage not only their minds but also their hearts…leading to life-long careers. Come meet the staff at On Ideas and experience the world of marketing and media through the following two rotations:


Rotation one (35 minutes): Marketing Communications – Account Service Team

  1. Careers addressed: account manager; digital strategist; content and social media manager; public relations manager.
  2. Hands-on interactive activities may include: Development of a strategy and communications plan (who, what, when, how, etc.).

Rotation two (35 minutes):  Marketing Communications – Creative Department

  1. Careers addressed: senior art director; graphic designer; creative director; creative services manager.
  2. Hands-on interactive activities may include: Creative development and copywriting.

Marketing Communications is not a one-way street but contains multiple communication channels for brands with consumers. Generally, the client presents a problem or need to the Agency’s account service team.  The account service team then involves the creative team to collectively develop a strategy/plan and solution to get the product to market. On Ideas, takes an integrated “Smart Thinking” approach to every project.

Our Smart Thinking approach is all about starting with a strategic vision for communications, regardless of traditional discipline or media channels. We create comprehensive communications strategies and deliver the executional excellence needed to succeed in today’s increasingly personalized/mobile/digital marketplace.
