Circus performers learn many skills in their lifetime. An essential skill is juggling. In the recent past, if a person wanted to juggle they would have to make their own equipment. Juggling clubs were carved out of balsa wood or cork and juggling balls were sewn fabric filled with sand. Through this exploration with the Circus Arts Conservatory, students will create their own juggling balls and begin to learn how to juggle them.

 Essential Concepts:

  • Students will follow sequenced instruction to make three juggling balls.
  • Students will develop their motor skills through juggling through practice, repetition and patience.
  • Students will learn about crossing the midline, sequencing, rhythm, problem solving, and multi-tasking.
