Students learn about owls and their special adaptations, followed by participating in a hands-on dissection of owl pellets. During the exploration we discuss food webs, ecological services provided by owls, and skeletal anatomy of bones found in the pellets. Owl pellets provided are sterilized. Materials can be dropped off at school and a zoom arranged by teacher for UF/IFAS educator to join class for educational session followed by pellet dissection. Adult assistance needed in the classroom.
