This 19-minute virtual theatre education program is designed for elementary school students. Rhythm & Tales welcomes little ones to a lively place where all are valued and lessons are learned through engaging fables like The Alligators and the Flamingos, The Supercilious Seed and Brer Rabbit and the Big Wind (this year’s offering) that teach young children about kindness, understanding and doing the right thing.

Brer Rabbit and the Big Wind (synopsis): Brer Tiger is selfish, keeping everything to himself and refusing to share the bounty of the forest with his fellow animals. Brer Rabbit whips up a Big Wind to teach him a lesson, causing Brer Tiger to change his stripes and learn to enjoy the blessings of generosity. Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe puts its soulful musical stamp on this classic folktale as part of its Rhythm & Tales elementary school series. This performance of Brer Rabbit and the Big Wind is brought to you by the students of Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe’s Stage of Discovery education program.
