The Marvelous, Miraculous Circus Machine is an exciting adventure in physical science! Led by the Circus Arts Conservatory teaching artists, students will learn about balanced and unbalanced forces, cause and effect, gravity, friction, potential and kinetic energy all while working as a collaborative team to create a ‘circus machine’ from everyday objects.

As an engaging finale to the classroom experience, a performance, reinforcing what the students have learned, will take place at the Sailor Circus Arena. Here a giant cause and effect machine, with circus artists at part of the machine itself, will be triggered to the delight of the audience.

On line resources are freely available for use in the classroom.  On the site, students can watch videos on each of the scientific concepts and teachers will find assessments and other resources as well. A workbook will be provided for each student as well as a classroom ‘kit’ with supplies to help build the machine.

Classes are aligned with the IFC and the final experience will take place at the Sailor Circus Arena, January 17 & 18, 2019.
