North Port High School Visual & Performing Arts Magnet

North Port High School Visual and Performing Arts students will present a fast-paced high caliber performance including various genres such as acting, ballet, band, chorus, commercial music, contemporary dance, jazz, musical theatre, orchestra, and percussion, accompanied by a visual art show in the NP Performing Art Center lobby. Students will learn how NPHS VPA Magnet programing enriches the lives of our SCS students, whether or not they choose to pursue a career or post-secondary school degree in the visual or performing arts. Middle school students will have the opportunity to hear from the high school performers about their VPA experience at NPHS, how their visual or performing art has made a positive impact in their lives, and how they see the arts continuing to impact their lives in the future. Bridging the gap between a love of the arts and a future in the Arts, audience members will learn how they can incorporate a new or existing artistic passion into their daily school schedule, and how the progressively rigorous coursework offered by NPHS VPA Magnet can prepare a student for a lifelong pursuit of artistic excellence.  This one-hour showcase will engage middle school audiences and inspire each student to develop their artistic expression by discovering their individual pathway in the visual and performing arts.
