Stephanie Daige, Teaching Artist, MM, BM
Stephanie Daige earned her Bachelor of Music degree from Stetson University and her Master of Music degree from the State University of New York (SUNY) College at Purchase, where she studied oboe with Bert Lucarelli. She performs professionally on oboe, English horn, and saxophone in various orchestras and churches. Currently a member of the Pops Orchestra of Bradenton and Sarasota, she has also performed in groups such as the Anna Maria Island Concert Chorus and Orchestra (AMICCO) and Venice Symphony. Stephanie is an adjunct faculty member of State College of Florida, teaching applied oboe. She also teaches private lessons on oboe, clarinet, bassoon, saxophone, and piano, and has worked with students in various schools throughout Manatee and Sarasota counties. During the summer, Stephanie has brought her ‘Carnival of the Animals’ and ‘Peter and the Wolf’ explorations to Sarasota County Libraries and to various Sarasota County Title 1 Schools. Bringing Carnival of the Animals to Life
This exciting, hands-on arts integration Teaching Artist Residency presented by Stephanie Daige uses Camille Saint-Saëns’ work Carnival of the Animals to teach students how music is used to convey characteristics of different animals. Students will learn the vocabulary words pitch, timbre, and tempo, and discuss how these elements are used to portray the movement of different animals.

$400 per residency. This cost includes a pre-meeting with the classroom teacher, 3 visits by the teaching artist, music, and materials to make the masks, puppets and fossils. Fee is $700 for two classes, taught on the same day, back-to-back. $75 total extra travel fee for south-county (south of Pine View) schools.
